During Thursday’s Clarke County School District’s Board of Education meeting the board approved and assigned three administrative positions.
The CCSD Board of Education approved the administrative appointment for Sabrina Lumpkin as the next principal of Barnett Shoals Elementary, Bylan Swift as principal of Whitehead Road Elementary, and Dan Swartz as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
Lumpkin’s appointment will become effective on July 1, taking over for principal Dr. Aliceson Nobles who has been appointed as principal at Gaines Elementary for the 25-26 school year. She brings 23 years of educational experience all with CCSD.
“It is a true honor to step into the role of principal at Barnett Shoals, a school that has been my home for the past six years. I’m excited to continue this journey alongside our dedicated teachers, families, and community,” said Ms. Lumpkin.
Swift’s appointment is effective immediately. She joined Whitehead Road Elementary as assistant principal at the start of the 22-23 school year. Swift spent seven years as an elementary school teacher and 11 years as an elementary assistant principal.
“I’m excited and grateful to take on the role of principal at Whitehead Road Elementary. Being part of Koala Nation is something truly special, and I’m proud to serve a school community that’s so dedicated to our students’ success,” said Ms. Swift
Swartz’s appointment as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources will be effective immediately. Before joining CCSD he worked as the Human Capital Strategies for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina from 2008 to 2015 before managing his own talent consulting firm from 2015 to 2022.
