PLC Grants Committee members celebrate record breaking amount of $1.5M to support student programs.

The University of Georgia’s Parents Leadership Council (PLC) raised a record $1.5 million for student programs in the 2025-26 academic year. Comprising over 375 families, the PLC provides annual gifts of $5,000 or more, supporting initiatives that enhance student well-being and engagement.

This year’s grants included $100,000 for scholarships at the new UGA School of Medicine, $100,000 to the Sunshine Fund for student mental health services, $54,000 to the Let All the Big Dawgs Eat Food Scholarship for meal plan support, and $18,000 for the Freshman Welcome event.

Since its founding in 2012, the PLC has awarded nearly $8.5 million to 142 organizations. The council also contributed $100,000 to the President’s Venture Fund, helping fund campus projects.

Through targeted grants, the PLC continues to make a lasting impact on undergraduate life at UGA.
