Longtime Athenians may remember the Vision Video store that closed in 2017. Though DVD rentals have been replaced by on-demand streaming, a local band going by the same name revives niche Athens nostalgia, along with a goth rock sound.

Since emerging in Northeast Georgia, Vision Video has gone on to tour North America and Europe. On October 19th, the band will play Historic Athens Porchfest.

WUGA’s Paige Walcott sat down with Dusty Gannon, the band’s lead musician, to discuss his music and the upcoming event.

Vision Video will perform as a part of Historic Athens Porchfest on October 19th at 147 Savannah Avenue at 6 pm.

Paige Walcott is an Athens native passionate about archiving culture through media and graphic design. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2022 with a degree in advertising and joined the WUGA team with a deep love for visual storytelling and community engagement.
