The University of Georgia will begin their month-long arts celebration with a two-day poetry festival. Five American poets will read to the public.
The Spotlight on the Arts is UGA’s annual event that focuses on celebrating literary, visual, and performing arts throughout the entire month of November. The celebration will kick off with an opening keynote event next Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m.
Edward Hirsch, a MacArthur Fellow, and Robin Coste Lewis, a National Book Award winner, will be doing feature readings and answering questions at the UGA Chapel.
The second public event will feature poets Michael Collier, Vievee Francis and Garrett Hongo at the Georgia Museum of Art on November 5 at 5:30 p.m. The event will also consist of feature readings, Q&A, and book signings.
