By being able to maintain high levels of performance and development, the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department was presented with five awards from the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association.
The Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department was recognized with several awards by the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association. The GRPA acknowledged Oconee County for their leadership in building community health, wellness, having a dedicated team, and other contributions.
The department was given the GRPA District Seven Agency of the Year. In addition, four individuals received honors in District Seven, including Programmer of the Year, Student of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year. Lisa D. Davol was presented with the District Seven Jeff Pruitt Inspiration Award.
The Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department manages over 600 acres across many sites including fitness facilities, tennis courts, sport complexes, and more. They provide different indoor and outdoor opportunities for all age groups.
