UGA has officially completed the public comment period for the Legion pool redevelopment plan. The university accepted written public comments and heard comments at the public hearing December 8th.

According to UGA a total of 127 comments were received. 84 comments were opposed to the project and 34 were in favor, with 9 other comments.

Those in favor of the redevelopment cited how beneficial the finished project would be for students and the campus community.

Those opposed to the redevelopment referred to Legion Pool as a historic third space of sentimental value.

UGA says they will weigh all feedback equally in accordance with the Georgia Environmental Policy Act.
