Local group honors the death of Renee Good ahead of weekend protest.
In response to the fatal shooting of a Minneapolis woman by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement will be hosting a vigil January 9th at 7 p.m.
The woman, Renee Good, was shot and killed January 7th while behind the wheel of her car, by an ICE officer. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has referred to the incident as an act of self defense against a domestic terrorist.
The vigil being held by the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement will be held at College Avenue near East Clayton Street.
On January 11th, there will also be a protest against ICE, hosted by Indivisible GA 10. The protest will be from 1p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at College Square.
