CLOSURES/DELAYS:
The Athens Branch and the Mountain Branch of the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia will be closed on Monday, January 26th.
The Athens-Clarke County Library will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 25 and Monday, Jan. 26. Check www.athenslibrary.org for updates.

Athens-Clarke County Manager Bob Cowell has issued a Declaration of Local Emergency. As a result, general ACCGov office operations and workstations will close for non-emergency personnel beginning on Sat., Jan. 24 at noon through Mon., Jan. 26. Updates to the following specific department services are also in effect:
- Animal Services - The Animal Shelter will be closed on Sat., Jan. 24 through Mon., Jan. 26 for drop-offs, adoptions, and visits. Emergency services will be available by calling 911.
- Leisure Services - Leisure Services parks and facilities will close on Sat., Jan. 24 at noon through Mon., Jan. 26.
- Updated 1/25 at 7:28 PM: Solid Waste - Residential trash and recycling collection will be postponed until Tuesday, Jan. 27. All other collections will be determined on Monday, Jan. 26. The CHaRM and Landfill will be closed on Sat., Jan. 24 at noon through Mon., Jan. 26, and the Recycling Facility will be closed on Mon., Jan. 26.
- Updated 1/26 at 12:31 pm: Transit - All ACC Transit Buses will resume their regular schedule at 1:45 pm today, January 26th. This is subject to change if conditions worsen. Please, check the myStop app or call (706) 613-3430 prior to travel for the latest updates.
- Updated 1/26 at 3:28 PM: Courts & Courthouse - As ordered by Chief Judge Lisa Lott, the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse is closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.
- It will reopen at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, January 27. Jurors will be instructed to report at 1:00 PM for Superior Court. Jurors for State Court will be instructed to report on Wednesday. Judges will notify their parties about reporting times.
