Testimony began in the trial of Colin Gray on Monday. Gray is the father of accused Apalachee High School shooting suspect, Colt Gray.
Day one in the trial of Colin Gray saw opening statements from prosecutors and defense attorneys. Those testifying included teacher Cassandra Ryan. She saw several students who were shot including Christian Angulo, who was killed.
“So, when they came in the room, they flipped the lights on and that’s when the students had notice Christian on the floor,” Ryan said. “They knew he wasn’t with us anymore and so the students began to get really upset. And they had pronounced him dead. But we had to walk by him by the door.”
Ryan said Angulo did not succumb to his wounds immediately.
“He was alive…there was a moment when me and Coach Edwards looked at each other and said that they needed to come because it wasn’t good. When they came finally, they had pronounced him dead while were there.”
Colin Gray is facing 29 counts, including second degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and second-degree cruelty to children.
