The Animal Services Department has announced changes to its shelter hours and field services schedule to allow staff more time to complete essential operational duties, including shelter cleaning, staff training, and casework updates.

Under the new schedule, which took effect March 9, the Animal Shelter will be closed to the public on Mondays. The shelter will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.

Field services will operate at full capacity Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, only emergency field services will be available on call.

Residents experiencing emergencies involving animals such as bites, aggressive dogs, sick or injured animals and wildlife, or welfare concerns involving domestic pets should call 911.

Officials said the adjusted hours will help staff better manage daily shelter operations while continuing to respond to urgent animal-related incidents in the community.
