The Georgia Department of Human Services, or DHS, will host a community conversation in May in Athens about the development of its next State Plan on Aging.

The Georgia DHS is required by the federal government to have a four-year State Plan on Aging, which guides the services offered to older adults and adults living with disabilities in the state.

The DHS will hold community conversations around the state this Spring in partnership with the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. The conversations will inform the state’s 2028-2031 State Plan on Aging.

Northeast Georgians connected to the aging community, including elderly adults, caregivers, and service providers can attend a community conversation at 3700 Atlanta Highway on May 13th. Feedback can also be provided on the web. More information is available at aging.georgia.gov.
