The Oconee County Sheriff's Office issued an all-clear announcement for schools affected by an anonymous bomb threat sent via email.

An anonymous bomb threat resulted in the evacuation of several Oconee County Schools. According to a release from the school district, North Oconee High School, Colham Ferry Elementary, Rocky Branch Elementary, and Oconee County Middle schools were evacuated out of an abundance of caution after the emailed threat was received. All students and staff were reported safe, and law enforcement is investigating.

Parents were asked not to come to campus to check out students and that they would be released after the Oconee County Sheriff's Office issued an all-clear.
Schools did not dismiss early, and students returned to class after the Sheriff’s Office gave that all-clear.

High Shoals Elementary and Oconee County Elementary were evacuated earlier out of an abundance of caution but quickly returned to normal schedules. No threats were received at those schools.
