Early voting starts in Georgia today for the May primary elections. There are also numerous local elections on the ballot.

Voters can head to the polls starting Monday to vote early in the state Democratic and Republican primaries, as well as local non-partisan elections.

Residents of Athens-Clarke County can place their vote for ACC Mayor. Additionally, there are candidates running for commissioner races and board of education races in Athens-Clarke, Barrow, Jackson, Oconee, and Oglethorpe counties. Athens-Clarke, Barrow, and Oconee will also have referendums on Special Purpose Local Option Sales Taxes (SPLOSTs). Barrow voters have a general obligation bond on the ballot.

Early votes can be cast in-person at five polling locations in Athens-Clarke County: the Elections Office, the ACC Library, the ACC Tennis Center, the Cooperative Extension office, and the Miriam Moore Community Center.

Oconee County early voting will take place at one polling location: the Oconee County Administrative Building at 7635 Macon Highway. Voters can come in from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
