After monitoring drought conditions in Georgia for several months, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division declared a Level One Drought Response for public water systems using both surface water and groundwater on April 27th.
In response, public water systems are required to launch one or more public information campaigns to raise awareness about drought conditions and the need for water conservation. This includes efforts through social media, newspapers, online ads, and more.
Drought Response Level One does not implement any further restrictions on water usage.
