Beto Cacao's book launch coincides with all-day Cinco de Mayo festival in Athens

Mexican artist and activist Beto Cacao will host a book launch event on Tuesday, May 5th as a part of an all-day Cinco de Mayo festival.

A public reading, conversation and signing of his new poetry collection Poemigrant(e)s will be held at Pinewoods Library from 3-4:45 p.m.

Hendershot's will be hosting other festivities organized by Cacao from 12 p.m. through the evening, including a musical performance by Cacao at 5:30 p.m., more live music, food vendors, traditional dance, and a latin dance party to end the night.

The Pinewoods Library presentation is free and open to the public; books will be available for purchase.

The Hendershot’s Cinco de Mayo festivities are $10 a ticket. Check local listings or venue announcements for any cover charge late in the evening.
