The Athens-Clarke County Animal Services Department is hosting Couch Crashers June 26-29 and July 3-6.

The Couch Crashers program is a short-term foster initiative that gives dogs living in animal shelters the opportunity to experience a home environment. It takes place over many holiday weekends during the year.

Giving dogs a break from the shelter environment helps to reduce their stress levels and improve their behavior. It can also increase their chances of being permanently adopted.

Families and individuals interested in fostering a dog must complete a brief screening and onboarding process. All necessary supplies, including food, bowls, bedding and leashes, are provided by Animal Services.

Learn more about the Couch Crashers program on the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government website.
