Second suspect arrested in connection with downtown shooting

Athens-Clarke County Police have made a second arrest in connection with a downtown shooting.

Markavion Gresham is charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, reckless conduct, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies. He is facing one count of criminal damage to property.

On July 5, police responded to a call of shots fired in the area of East Clayton Street. Multiple weapons were fired and several businesses were struck by gunfire. No one was hurt during the shooting.

19-year-old Damian Swint was previously arrested in the case. He was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, possession of a firearm during commission of certain felonies, theft by receiving stolen property, carrying a weapon in school safety zone, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
