Former Georgia men's basketball coach Orlando "Tubby" Smith will be inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame this October as part of the Class of 2026.
Smith spent two seasons at Georgia from 1995-97, leading the Bulldogs to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
In his first season, Georgia reached the Sweet 16 after defeating Clemson and upsetting top-seeded Purdue before falling to eventual national runner-up Syracuse in overtime. The following year, the Bulldogs earned a No. 3 NCAA Tournament seed, the highest in program history, and matched the school record with 24 wins while advancing to the SEC Tournament championship game.
Smith finished his 31-year collegiate coaching career with a 642-370 record, guiding five different programs to 18 NCAA Tournament appearances.
He also won the 1998 national championship at Kentucky. The Hall of Fame's Class of 2026 will be formally inducted Oct. 22 in Kansas City, Missouri.
