The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating a report of a woman being hit by a stray bullet. According to a department release, on Sunday, July 19 at approximately 2:00 AM, officers responded to the scene at 100 Rolling Ridge Drive regarding a woman being struck by a stray bullet while she was inside her apartment. The gunfire happened after an argument near the victim’s apartment.

She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators say other apartments were also struck by gunfire.
