What is Indoor Football, and why is it coming to Athens?

The Indoor Football League only has 16 teams across the United States—and starting in 2027, Athens will be home to one. To find out why, WUGA’s Havivah Saltz sat down with Rob Keefe, Head Coach and Director of Football Operations for Athens Indoor Football.

The Athens Indoor Football Team’s official name and logo will be unveiled on August 26th at noon in the Classic Center Atrium. The team’s first season will begin in 2027 at Akins Ford Arena. You can get updates online at athensfootball.com or on social media @athensfootball.
