The Clarke County School District is accepting applications for its 2026-27 Volunteer Instructional Leadership Learning Academy (VILLA), a program designed to help residents better understand the district and become more engaged in local schools.
Open to all Clarke County residents, the academy will feature seven monthly sessions beginning in September. Participants will learn about school district operations, the role of Board of Education members, and district goals.
The program will also include school and district office tours, discussions with school leaders and board members, and attendance at a Board of Education meeting.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. Aug. 31 at bit.ly/CCSDVILLA. Participation is limited to 40 people, and previous VILLA participants are not eligible.
Evening sessions will be held at the district office, with a daytime school tour scheduled for March. Selected applicants will be notified Sept. 4.
