A new mural entitled “The Stage of Memory” by artist Alex Maksiov is coming to the lobby of the historic Morton Theatre in downtown Athens.
Work on the mural will begin this week, and other improvements will continue through September. Patrons can enjoy the mural when the first show of the season opens at the Morton in October. WUGA’s Havivah Saltz sat down with Lynn Battle Green, the theatre’s Managing Director, to learn more about the project and the history it represents.
