Design plans for Athens’ new Judicial Center are up for discussion at the Mayor and Commission’s Agenda Setting Session Tuesday evening. Public input will be taken on the proposed schematic site designs and other agenda items.
Two site plans were presented at a September 8 Work Session - one that includes more on-site parking that would be available for public use after hours, and another plan that reduces parking with the goal of preserving Athens Moon Tree, one of Georgia’s surviving trees grown from a seed flown to the moon aboard the 1971 Apollo 14 mission.
The Mayor and Commission is scheduled to approve one of the designs at their Regular Session on Tuesday, October 6.
Prior to that, the issue will be discussed at the Mayor and Commission's Agenda Setting Session, scheduled for 6 p.m. on September 15 at City Hall. Public comment can be submitted through an online form or delivered at that meeting.
