Athens-Clarke County restaurants receive range of inspection scores, according to Georgia Department of Health records

The Georgia Department of Public Health recorded a range of food safety and facility violations at Athens-Clarke County establishments during inspections conducted Sept. 1-14.

Butt Hutt on Macon Highway received an 89 after inspectors reported live cockroaches in the kitchen, along with grease and dust buildup and a damaged walk-in cooler gasket. Tlaloc and Saint Mary’s Health Care System each received an 87, while Taqueria La Parrilla scored 85.

7 Brew received an 82 after inspectors found milk stored above 41 degrees and other violations.

Other Athens-area establishments received scores in the 90s. Chick-fil-A in downtown Athens and Maepole each scored 99, while Taco Bell on West Broad Street received a 98.

Six Athens-Clarke County establishments, including Cedar Shoals High School and Ellianos, received perfect scores of 100.
