If you’ve been searching for a new book to cozy up with as the temperatures cool down, you’re in luck. There are a host of book sales in Athens and the surrounding counties beginning Thursday.
The Athens-Clarke County Library, the Oconee County Library, the Madison County Library and the Oglethorpe County Library are all having fall sales now and through the next week. At all of these sales, customers can purchase hardcovers, paperbacks, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks and more.
Athens-Clarke County
The Athens-Clarke County Library fall sale began Wednesday for dues-paying members of the Friends of the Library.
The sale continues Thursday until 8 p.m., Friday from 10 am to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday is known as Bag Day, where customers can fill a bag for just $10. The library provides the bags.
Oconee County
Thursday is preview night for the Oconee County Library Friends fall book sale. From 4 to 8 p.m., members can peruse the sale at the Oconee County Civic Center.
The sale is open to the public beginning at 10 a.m. Friday. Their hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Everything is 50% off on Saturday and Sunday is Bag Day, where customers can fill a bag for $10.
Madison County
The Madison County Library’s fall sale began last week, but runs through Saturday, Sept. 26.
The sale is open to the general public during regular library hours, which are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Oglethorpe County
Oglethorpe County’s sale begins Wednesday and goes through Oct. 17.
Their hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Saturdays are $5 Bag Sale Days.
