An Athens man has been arrested following an investigation into alleged online exploitation of a minor, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
Christopher Flick, 38, was arrested November 2 and charged with one count of obscene internet contact with a minor. On November 3, officers executed a search warrant at his Athens residence.
ACCPD’s Special Victims Unit began investigating Flick’s online activity earlier this year in coordination with the Dale County, Alabama, Sheriff’s Office. He was booked into the Clarke County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing, with assistance from the U.S. Secret Service and an electronic detection K9 from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.
Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Dara Shapland at 762-400-7198 or dara.shapland@accgov.com. Tips about other child exploitation cases can also be submitted through the GBI or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline.
