3 Writers to be Inducted into Georgia Writers Hall of Fame

Three new writers will be inducted into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame this fall.

Included is Jericho Brown, the director of the creative writing program at Emory University in Atlanta who won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry for his third collection, “The Tradition.”

Among them are also novelist and playwright Pearl Cleage, who currently serves as Distinguished Artist in Residence at Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre, and Atlanta-born Clarence Major, author of 16 collections of poetry, 11 novels, and two collections of short stories.

Former Georgia Congressman and 2019 inductee John Lewis will also receive a posthumous recognition for his various works including his speeches, autobiography, and trilogy of graphic novels.
