The Athens-Clarke County Police Department has arrested a teenager in connection with a double shooting last month. According to a release from the department, a 17-year old Athens teen is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Pistol by a Person Under 18, and three counts of Violation of the Criminal Street Gang Act. He is also charged with Burglary in connection with an unrelated incident.
Police say the shooting happened January 31, 2021 in the 100 block of Highland Drive. Two victims, both 18, received non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
