State Election Officials Begin Hand Counting Ballots

That process of counting Georgia’s five million votes will include some 51 thousand in Athens-Clarke County.

 

The ACC Board of Elections will start its count Friday the 13th from 9 am until 4 pm and will continue the process under the same schedule Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday until complete. 

 

The count can be viewed online or in-person by reservation.

District Attorney Candidates on December 1st Runoff

Election workers around the state are bracing for a hand tally of the five million votes cast in the presidential election, a grueling process Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger labeled an audit, a recount, and a recanvass, all at once. 

 

Counties have until next Friday to finish that count and then many workers must then ready themselves for local, state, and federal recount races around Georgia, including those in Clarke and Oconee counties.
