Braselton Man Facing 115 Years in Prison for Shooting Mother, Other Crimes

A Braselton man is facing more than 100 years in prison following his conviction on nearly a dozen charges.

Jonathan Allen is accused of shooting his mother, Linda Allen. A media release from Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum states deputies responded to the scene on Charlie Cooper Road in Braselton on June 22, 2018 regarding a shooting.

Allen is also accused of shooting at a UPS truck driver as well as at deputies on the scene, and striking two vehicles.

He then barricaded himself inside his home.

A Hall County SWAT team arrived and Allen was tken into custody.

Allen pled guilty to those charges on July 8th of this year. He was sentenced July 25th in Jackson County Superior Court to serve 115 years.

He pled guilty to Aggravated Assault 4 Counts, Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer 2 Counts, Terroristic Threats, Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony 3 counts and Cruelty to Children in the 3rd degree.
