Georgia Republican David Perdue will be making gun rights expansion a part of his platform for Governor.
Perdue issued a statement this morning that as governor, he would aim to make Georgia a constitutional carry state, meaning that citizens who can legally possess firearms can do so both openly or in a concealed manner without a state permit.
Incumbent Governor Brian Kemp also supports constitutional carry, which Perdue noted, saying “despite his promises on the campaign trail, Brian Kemp has failed to make it a reality in Georgia.”
21 states currently allow permitless carry, including Mississippi, Texas and Tennessee.
