Prolific Concussions in Sports

  Have you ever had a concussion? If you were a star football player on your college team would you hide your injury? Dr. Julianne Schmidt, Assistant Professor of Kinesiology in the UGA College of Education, talks about how common concussions are in competitive sports and how only a small portion are reported. You will also hear about changes happening in competitive sports to reduce the stigma around reporting concussions and rule changes to make sports safer for athletes.
