African Perspectives for April 10, 2022

The second episode in April is strikingly the second instalment of the African music odyssey that we promised will last till May on the show. The episode honors the spring season that is becoming warm and colorful all-around Athens, GA. It also celebrates all the listeners born in the month of April, including friends and family. The episode offers two sets of updates and extended music breaks with featuring multiple selections of African tracks. The first news update is from East Africa where Uganda and Burundi have agreed to and have taken necessary steps to strengthen the economic ties between the two nations. The second news update is from Mali, West Africa where relations between France and Mali’s military leaders have broken down, leading to increased cooperation between France and Niger to fight Islmaic insurgents in the Sahel. As always, the episode, the African music odyssey #2 featured selected enjoyable music from Africa and/or by Africans including selected tunes from two wonderful collections, ‘Africa Never Stands Still’ and “Café Africa.”
