The final episode in the month of June was on the first official weekend in summer. It features the first round of the much-anticipated interviews with visiting Mandela Washington Fellows as part of continuing focus on the 2022 Mandela Washington Fellowship Leadership in Civic Engagement Institute ongoing at UGA through July 17, 2022. The Mandela Washington Fellows, who are between the ages of 25 and 35, have established records of accomplishment in promoting innovation and positive impact in their organizations, institutions, communities, and countries. This episode commences the friendly take-over of the show by the visiting Fellows as the next six or so shows will feature conversations with half of the twenty-five fellows in weekly pairs. The episode features conversations with the first pair of fellows from Chad and Congo, Republic. The two guests are Aicha Abdoulaye Niakounia from the Republic of Chad whose project interests include mentoring youth in entrepreneurship and leadership, training and initiating organizational leadership and good governance among youths, and providing small business support to rural and vulnerable women; and Jadmire Feret Moebo from Congo Republic whose project interests include promoting high rate of English speakers in Congo, advocating for Children and Girls Issues, and empowering civic engagement in Journalism. As always, the episode featured selected enjoyable music from Africa and/or by Africans including tracks from Chad’s Afrotrix and Congo Republic’s Tabu Ley Rochereu.
