The UGA Performing Arts Center season begins Thursday, September 10th with the Hodgson Concert Hall debut of legendary Afropop singer and five-time Grammy winner Angélique Kidjo.
Kidjo's visit is a collaboration between the UGA Performing Arts Center and the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts. She is this year's Delta Visiting Chair for Global Understanding. And her new album, Hope!!, is a veritable United Nations of collaborations. An example is the song "No Stopping Us," created with American musician and fashion maven Pharrell Williams. When she says "We get together, there's no stopping us/They're gonna learn it when they're blocking us."

Kidjo will also be onstage at the 40 Watt Club Oct. 9th for a taping of WUGA's African Perspectives with a live audience; the public is welcome.
