On Sept. 9, Angélique Kidjo will sit down with WUGA’s Akinloye Ojo for an interview at the 40 Watt Club in downtown Athens. This conversation is also a live recording of African Perspectives, WUGA’s show covering African music and news.

The Grammy-winning Beninise musician and activist has been named the University of Georgia’s 2026 Delta Visiting Chair for Global Understanding, established by the Wilson Center for the Humanities.

Kidjo’s residency in Athens will last from Sept. 8 to Sept. 10. Tickets for this performance are available on the UGA Presents website.

The African Perspectives team is requesting listeners send in their questions for Kidjo about her music, activism and message to the world for the interview. Questions and comments may be written or in 15 to 20 second voice messages until Friday, Sept. 4 via email at akinloye@uga.edu, or text at 404-428-9640.
