Candidates in the Athens-Clarke County mayoral race faced off in a debate on Saturday.

As Athens Mayor Kelly Girtz’s second term nears its end, the race for the city’s next Mayor is underway. Athens’ Ciné will host the second mayoral debate of this election season this Saturday from 5-7 pm.

Athens Mayoral candidate LaKeisha Gantt held a listening session Sunday afternoon where she heard concerns from the community and presented her platform.

She is currently a member of the Clarke County School District Board of Education, representing parts of southwest Athens in District 7.
