In the wake of successful campaigns by Democratic candidates Deborah Gonzalez and Jonathan Wallace, Athens for Everyone is already at work on behalf of the newly-elected representatives. Organization Coordinator Adam Lassila says the organization is taking part in “Victory Canvassing.”
“We’re going out this coming weekend with Deborah Gonzalez,” according to Lassila. “The idea is okay, we won, but now let’s get out in the community, let’s knock on every door, not only the doors of likely voters, let’s talk to everyone. Ask them what issues matter to them.”
Those interested in participating are asked to meet a 2 pm Sunday in the parking lot of Broadacres Court. They can meet Gonzalez and celebrate her victory in Stae House District 117.
The group has already held victory canvassing for Jonathan Wallace.
