AADM Holding 'Protect Your Vote' Civil Rights Meeting

The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement is holding a Civil Rights meeting tomorrow evening (Tuesday, November 27th) aimed at helping citizens learn more about voting rights.

The focus of the meeting is “Protect Your Vote.” Topics discussed include reporting voting fraud, protecting you vote, understanding the ballot and understanding provisional voting, and felon voting rights. Mokah Jasmine Johnson is the president of the organization.

“I do want people to realize, that you do have power locally, you do have power at the state level,” Johnson said. “And it’s very important for you to pay attention, to not just blindly voting for anybody, but to understand the process know who you’re voting for and also know the importance of voting and how your vote matters.”   

The meeting is Tuesday, November 27th from 5:30 p to 7 pm at the Athens Library.
