Clarke County Board of Education Approves FY 2020 Budget

The Clarke County Board of Education has approved its Fiscal Year 2020 budget. The $164,699,956 measure includes a $3,000 raise for every teacher and a two percent raise for all non-teaching personnel.

According to a medial release, this is the second consecutive year the administration has submitted a balanced budget to the Board of Education and community.  

The budget includes athletic training services at Cedar Shoals and Clarke Central High Schools, along with the new positions of assistant police chief, English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) secretary, community support specialist and Communities in Schools coordinators at Alps Road and Gaines Elementary Schools.

It also features an enhanced secondary school alternative education model and a third-party administrator for substitute teachers. To learn more about the CCSD Fiscal Year 2020 budget, please visit
