Clarke County School Board Approves Hiring New Principal for Alps Road Elementary

The Clarke County Board of Education has approved the hiring of Audra Olukoya as principal of Alps Road Elementary School.

Olukoya has 12 years’ experience as an educator, six of which she spent as an educational leader in Title 1 schools.

According to a release from Clarke County School District, she was most recently an Assistant Principal in DeKalb County were she improved math scores and student attendance while reducing student discipline rates.

This position was filled through a collaboration between district staff

and the school hiring committee comprised of the Local School Governance Team, LSGT, community members, and school staff.

The decision was announced at the regular board meeting on Thursday, August 8, 2019.
