ACAC Call for Entries for Athens Music Walk of Fame Art

Athens Cultural Affairs Commission

The Athens Cultural Affairs Commission is inviting artists and designers to submit proposals for public art on the Athens Music Walk of Fame.

The project requires a bronze template to be used for making plaques about each inductee into the Athens Music Walk of Fame. The plaques will be placed in the sidewalks of Downtown Athens.

The ACAC says the music industry and talent have greatly contributed to the identity of the Classic City. The influences come from a variety of sources, including well known bands originating from Athens, recording studios, and signers and songwriters.

The AMWF will celebrate the city’s contribution to the music scene with several plaques being place around and in front of notable venues such as the 40 Watt, the Morton Theatre, and the Georgia Theatre.

The Athens Music Walk of Fame will be funded by SPLOST funds.

The deadline for proposals is 11:59 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
