Reflecting on the Honor of Dooley Field

201 wins, more than any other football coach in UGA history dating back to 1892, 6 conference championships, 1 national title and multiple individual honors including 5 time SEC coach of the year and now the ultimate honor. This week legendary football coach and former UGA Athletic Director Vince Dooley celebrated his 87th birthday and this weekend, more than 90,000 fans should be on hand to extend their best wishes as UGA memorializes the Bulldogs' winningest coach, with the naming of Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium this weekend….WUGA Intern Phillip Hubbard of UGA’s Grady College sat down with Coach Dooley for some reflection. *Listen back below*

Chris Shupe was the Program Director of WUGA from 2014-2022. Shupe may be best known as The Athens King, a tribute to Elvis Presley, which often included an 8 piece show band! After two years as a part-time announcer, Chris Shupe joined WUGA full time as the station’s Morning Edition Host and Assistant Operations Director. He was later promoted to PD in 2014.
