ACCPD: No Need for Lockdowns after Shooting Incident on College Avenue

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating a shooting incident this morning.

According to a release from the department, around 9:15 this morning, officers responded to the scene in the 600 block of College Avenue.

As word of the shooting spread, several business and schools placed their facilities on lockdown.

Officers identified and located both parties involved in the incident.

About two hours after the shooting incident, the department declared there was no threat to schools or businesses and no further need for the lockdowns.
