Athens-Clarke County Announces Proposed Design Concept for the Firefly Bridge over Trail Creek, See

ACC Government

The Athens-Clarke County Government is hosting the second of two open houses scheduled this week regarding the final concept for the Firefly Bridge over Trail Creek.

The meeting is Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the ACC Planning Department Auditorium on Dougherty Street.

The design is based on earlier public input and is designed to preserve the history of the trestle while updating it for pedestrians, cyclists and others.

As part of an outreach process, the ACC Leisure Services Department held public listening sessions in March, a series of public meetings in May, a review with the County Commission, a User Group Meeting and other local and community events.

In addition, an online survey is available through September 28th at www.accgov.com/leisureserviceslistens.

Input gathered during this outreach process will be incorporated into the team’s final recommendations.

A similar meeting was held Monday, September 16.
