Firefly Trail

We previously reported that the Athens-Clarke County Government is seeking to purchase pieces of Paul Bunce’s property for the Firefly Trail.

John Kissane is the trail development coordinator. He says the aim is to get people outside celebrating the beauty of the trail.

The trestle is one part of the old Georgia Railroad, now the site of a partially finished multi-use path called the Firefly Trail.

The $2.9 million grant will assist in the construction of a 4.5 mile section from Maxeys to the Greene County through a section of unincorporated Oglethorpe County.
