COVID-19 Numbers Rise, but Pace of Increase Slows

Healthcare IT News

COVID numbers continue to rise in Georgia, but the pace of that increase seems to have slowed a bit in recent days. The Georgia Department of Public Health reports just over 4,100 cases Thursday. Some 96% of the state’s ICU beds are being used, along with 88% of general inpatient beds. However, in Region E, which contains Athens, 96% of ICU beds are in use and general inpatient beds are at 92% capacity.

The Georgia Coordinating Center reports Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center is in ICU and Medical Diversion status and St. Mary’s Hospital is in total diversion.
