Only a few days left to comment on Prince Ave. changes

Time is winding down for Athens residents wanting to weigh in on temporary changes to Prince Avenue. Athens-Clarke County commissioners are set to vote soon on whether to make those changes permanent.

The Athens-Clarke County government is seeking feedback through Wednesday, November 23, on the Prince Avenue Pilot Project.

A half mile section of the road is operating as a three-lane road with separated bikes lanes, a center turn lane, and other safety features. The government is considering all roadway users, drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders. Visit www.accgov.com/prince for more information or to comment.

Initial funding of $4 million for the Prince Avenue corridor comes from the 2018 Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax or TSPLOST.
