The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement is hosting its annual End School to Prison Pipeline Conference on Saturday, April 29th. The event will feature discussions and strategies on gang prevention efforts, restorative justice practices and youth empowerment.
Johnson says the conference is an opportunity for educators, policy makers, and community leaders to come together to learn effective strategies on implementing successful polices and approaches.
Attendees will hear from guest speakers including Mike Tafelski from the Southern Poverty Law Center, Shane Sims from People Living in Recovery, Janice Jerome from the Georgia Conflict Center, Maria Pinkelton from Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities, and ACC Solicitor General William Fleenor.
The conference is Saturday from 9 am until 5 pm at the Classic Center.
