Marjorie Taylor Greene will not challenge Jon Ossoff in 2026 Senate race

Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene says she will not challenge Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia in next year’s midterms.

In a post on X, Greene disputed GOP donors and consultants who fear she would turn off the moderate Republicans and independents needed to beat Ossoff. Greene said she doesn’t want to serve in a Senate that “doesn’t work,” is dominated by lawmakers hostile to grassroots Trump supporters, and unwilling to shake up the status quo.

So far, only Congressman Buddy Carter has declared his intent to run for the post. Others who expressed interest include Congressmen Mike Collins and Rich McCormick, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper, and Insurance Commissioner John King.
